BCC is now offering a certificate course in biostatistics to non-statisticians, professionals, academicians and students in the field of health science, nursing, public health and pharmaceutical sciences. Sampling – random and non-random sampling methods
Data summarization – measures of averages and dispersion
Data presentation techniques – graphical and tabular
Normal distribution – properties and applications
Standard error, confidence interval and sampling distribution
Basic principles of testing of hypothesis
Test of significance
Correlation analysis
Regression analysis
Sample size estimation
Measures of agreement
Validity of screening and diagnostic tests
Epidemiological study designs- Descriptive, Analytical and Experimental designs
Epidemiological Measures – Rate, Ratio, Proportion, Incidence and Prevalence, Risk difference, Risk ratio, Odds ratio
Development of research tools and its validation

The course will be conducted for a total of 9 days [Saturdays & Sundays].
February – 6, 12, 20, 26
March - 6, 12, 20, 26
April - 2
TIME: Sundays -1.30 PM to 4 PM
Saturdays - 6.30 PM to 8.30 PM
The course concludes with an evaluation test on 2nd April 2022.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Selection is purely based on a first-come-first-serve basis, with an intake of 25 participants per batch.

ASSESSMENT
Assessment will be based on completion of assignments and performance in the test conducted at the end of the course.
